He grew up in Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria, and attended Ughelli Primary School. He is originally from the Aboh Kingdom, which is part of the Ndokwa-East local government area in Delta State.

Uti received his secondary education at the Igbinedion Education Center in Lagos, Nigeria.
