And she was appointed to the Independent Expert Advisory Group on Data Revolution for Sustainable Development, which she served on from 2014 to 2016.

When President Muhammadu Buhari nominated her as Minister of Environment in 2015, she held the position for two years before being reappointed. She was in charge of the country’s climate change efforts, which included safeguarding the environment and conserving resources to ensure a more sustainable future.

The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, appointed her as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization of American States. And Amina has continued to work in that position to this very day.

As an adjunct professor at Columbia University in New York, she teaches courses for the Master’s Programme in Development Practice.
