Funke Akindele; is a Nigerian actress, screenwriter, producer, and businesswoman.
She is mostly known as ‘Jenifa,’ a character she portrayed in the film titled; Jenifa. She made a name for herself in the Nigerian entertainment business by lovingly portraying her parts, which she has expanded to include her own soap opera, Jenifa’s Dairy.

She received her basic and secondary education at Grace Children Schools in Gbagada and Lagos State Model College in Igbo-kuta, respectively.
Funke has a law degree from the University of Lagos, and an OND in mass communication from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Ogun State.
On May 26, 2012, Funke married; Adeola Kehinde Oloyede, and the couple divorced in July 2013 due to irreconcilable reasons. In May of 2016, she remarried Abdul Resheed Bello, also known as JJC Skillz, in London.

Despite her legal training; Jenifa chose to pursue a career in acting. We can all agree that acting comes naturally to her. Naked Wire, in which she played a waitress, was one of her first films.
Her rise to fame began when she starred in the famous TV series titled “I Need to Know” which ran from 1998 to 2002 and featured a curious but smart secondary school student. “I Need to Know” series is a sitcom produced by the “United Nations” Population Fund to educate the public on the challenges that teens experience as they grow up.
Funke has appeared in; written, and produced numerous Nollywood films, particularly Yoruba films, and has a long list of box office hits to her credit. ‘Maami, Iru’ ‘Oka (Cobra’s Tail)’, ‘Omo Ghetto’, ‘Ojo Ketala’ (13thDay), and A Trip to Jamaica are some of her best-known films.
Funke Akindele had her breakthrough as the lead in the comedy-drama film titled; Jenifa, in which she played a “local girl” from the village who moved to Lagos in search of a “better” life. The film was not only enjoyable and hilarious, but it was also a huge hit, and she did an excellent job of capitalizing on the opportunity.
